Great question! We all know it gets hot in Colorado, but we do the following to make sure your pets stay cool:

  • watch the weather and choose trails that are more shaded
  • take plenty of water breaks! Hikers carry plenty of water specifically for the dogs with more in the van
  • take plenty of shade breaks!
  • monitor dogs and call the hike early if needed

Pickup starts at 8 am and drop-offs start around 3 pm. Your dog will be hiking from approx. 10 am to 2 pm depending on drive time / trail for the day.

DAC hikes vary based on group size, terrain difficulty, dog ability, trail, weather, and other factors, but typically your dog will be hiking 3-5 miles and taking breaks for treats, water, and shade.

No, not at this time. DAC tracks dogs with Garmin Alpha LTE and provides tracking data as part of the report card so you can see exactly where your dog adventured. DAC is always working to improve accessibility for clients.
